Who is responsible
Ottercedarwhrl Engineering Ltd, company no. 15180426, is responsible for personal information it processes in operating ottercedarwhrl.live and handling correspondence. Information involved in browsing
Loading a website requires your browser to send technical information, including an IP address, requested page and browser-related headers, to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting providers may keep access or security logs for operating and protecting the service. The pages themselves do not install analytics, advertising pixels, third-party fonts or embedded social-media trackers.
Where technical records are processed under our control, the purpose is reliable delivery, troubleshooting and protection against misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure, functioning informational website. Records should be restricted to what is necessary for those purposes and not used to build advertising profiles.
The local contact tool
Text entered in the contact tool is processed in the current browser page. The tool has no message-submission endpoint and does not store your draft in localStorage. Copying uses the browser's Clipboard API when available; downloading creates a plain-text file on your device. Your operating system, clipboard history, browser extensions or device backup services may separately retain copied or downloaded content under their own settings.
Do not put sensitive information in the tool. If you manually send the draft by email, its contents and your email address become correspondence that we receive. Your email provider and ours process that delivery under their own applicable arrangements.
Email correspondence
We may process your name, email address, message content and relevant correspondence history to answer questions, assess corrections and manage requests. The usual legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and maintaining editorial accuracy. If a legal obligation requires a particular record, that obligation may provide the relevant basis instead.
We do not use an enquiry as automatic permission to send marketing. We keep correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the matter, maintain an appropriate editorial or administrative record, and meet applicable legal requirements. Retention depends on the nature of the enquiry; unnecessary content should be deleted rather than retained indefinitely.
Browser storage
If you choose a browser-storage preference on the Cookies page, the site records that choice in localStorage on your device. This is not a copy of your contact message. You can remove it through that page or your browser's site-data settings. No optional tracking is activated by either preference in this version of the site.
Recipients and international processing
Hosting and email service providers may process information needed to deliver their services. We do not sell personal information. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Where a provider processes personal information outside the United Kingdom, applicable transfer requirements and safeguards must be addressed; contact us for information relevant to your enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law provides rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and receive certain data in a portable format. These rights are not absolute. We may need proportionate information to confirm identity before responding.
You can raise a concern with us or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. You do not have to contact us first to exercise your right to complain to the regulator.
External links and changes
Following an external link takes you to a site with its own privacy practices. This notice covers our website and correspondence, not those other services. We may update this notice when the site's processing changes; the published version will describe the current features.
